Enriching Everyday Life Through Creativity and Care

Meaningful Activities That Support Wellbeing and Dementia Care

Stowford House Residents recently enjoyed a thoughtfully curated programme of activities designed to nurture creativity, curiosity and wellbeing, while celebrating everyone’s interests and abilities.

The week was filled with several engaging moments, from the gentle joy of water painting, where residents explored colour and movement in a calming, expressive way, to time spent browsing beautifully illustrated cookbooks. The engaging activity sparked lively conversations, which included memories of favourite meals and shared stories around food. All of which neatly reflected Aria Care’s belief in the power of meaningful connections and familiar experiences.

Residents also took part in sensory-based activities, handling a variety of objects to explore different shapes, textures and purposes. These sessions were particularly valuable for residents living with dementia, offering gentle cognitive stimulation while supporting confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment.

Adding an extra touch of indulgence to the week, residents were delighted by a visit from a hairdresser. The experience provided not only a chance to feel pampered but also delivered valuable one-to-one interaction. The soothing routine of having hair brushed and styled left residents feeling relaxed, refreshed and looking their very best, with plenty of smiles to be seen all round.

At Aria Care, moments like these reflect our commitment to compassionate, person-centred care — creating enriching experiences that support both physical and emotional wellbeing, and ensuring every resident feels valued, comfortable and truly at home.
