With dark nights and short days, the summer can seem a long way away! We’ve taken time out of the festive planning to look back to the end of August, and we’re smiling at the memories of our Kingsclear Sports Day fundraiser – a day filled with laughter, teamwork and more than a little friendly competition. With our game faces firmly on, residents, team members, families and friends came together to raise funds for the incredible work of Marie Curie, and it really was a day to remember.

From cheering on from the sidelines to joining in with the activities, the sense of community spirit was wonderful to see. Our charity raffle added to the excitement, and we’re incredibly grateful to St Mary’s Church and Waterstones for their generous donations, which helped make the day such a success.
After all that effort, there was only one thing for it – a visit from the ice cream van! Residents and team enjoyed a well-earned sweet treat together, the perfect way to cool down and relax after a fun-filled afternoon. And just a few short months later, we’re enjoying the sweet treats that December, and Christmas, bring – chocolates, gingerbread, and mince pies!
We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along back in August, supported us and donated so generously. Every contribution is going towards Marie Curie, helping to turn a joyful summer’s day into support that makes a real difference.
