Honouring Black History Month with Warmth and Pride
Hamilton Nursing Home recently came together for a vibrant and heartfelt celebration in honour of Black History Month. On a joyful Friday afternoon, 10th October 2025, residents, guests and team members gathered in the beautifully decorated Coombe Lounge to mark the occasion with music, culture and connection.
The celebration, thoughtfully organised by Activities Co-ordinator and Lead, Georgina, was a true reflection of unity and appreciation. The lounge was adorned with colourful banners and displays celebrating Black heritage and history, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
Guests were treated to a delicious spread of traditional dishes, lively music and an array of beautiful cultural clothing, all adding to the richness of the day. The event served not only as a joyful gathering but also as a moment to recognise the immense contributions of Black communities to society, encouraging greater understanding and cultural awareness within the home.
Reflecting on the success of the celebration, Georgina shared:
“It was a beautiful party, and everyone enjoyed it.”
The afternoon was filled with laughter, learning and togetherness — embodying Aria Care’s values of community, respect and inclusivity. Through events like these, Hamilton Nursing Home continues to nurture an environment where everyone feels valued, celebrated and connected.
