The residents and team at Holmwood Care Centre in Kidderminster hosted a 60’s themed ‘Summer of Love’ summer fete last weekend for their residents and were joined by their families, friends and local community for the fantastic event.
It was a glorious day with a range of stalls for people to peruse including homemade crafts, face painting, a photo booth to capture memories, as well as games to enjoy.
To set the atmosphere they were joined by local singer Kim who provided live music throughout, that got everyone singing and dancing, a raffle meant there were prizes to be won.
Delicious food prepared by the chef and kitchen team including burgers, fruit skewers and refreshments were available as well as ice cream which proved popular with the sun out!
For the children that came along there was a fairy hunt to help keep them amused where they followed riddles around the gardens leading them to a magical fairy house at the end.
Resident Mal loved the event and especially enjoyed her ice cream and the music commenting on the day “It was absolutely the best I’ve ever seen. Everyone was so nice and when they got up and danced… well, what more can you want”
