Hamilton Nursing Home Marks Care Home Open Week with Music, Laughter and Togetherness
Hamilton Nursing Home came alive with community spirit and heartfelt celebration as it took part in Care Home Open Week 2025 – a national initiative running from 16 to 22 June, aimed at showcasing the vital role care homes play in their communities and highlighting the dedication of the people who live and work in them.
The team at Hamilton embraced the week with warmth and enthusiasm, opening their doors to residents’ families, friends, and local visitors. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with the gardens in full bloom and dressed for celebration – creating the perfect setting for a joyful summer gathering.
One of the most memorable highlights of the event was a live concert by the talented Alex, whose heartfelt singing and skilful guitar playing brought a wave of smiles, applause, and even a few happy tears. His performance included a mix of well-loved classics that had everyone tapping their feet, humming along, and reminiscing about favourite songs from years gone by. The atmosphere was truly electric, and the joy on residents’ faces spoke volumes.
No British celebration would be complete without a delicious selection of refreshments – and Hamilton certainly delivered. Guests were treated to a spread of traditional favourites, including a beautifully made Victoria sponge cake, freshly baked scones, and a comforting cup of tea or coffee. These simple pleasures provided the perfect accompaniment to a day filled with conversation, connection, and shared memories.
The home’s garden played an important role in the day’s celebrations. Lovingly maintained and dressed with seasonal blooms, it provided a welcoming and relaxing space where residents and their loved ones could gather, chat, and enjoy the sunshine together. The surroundings added to the overall sense of comfort and community that made the event so special.
