A Dream Day Out at the Circus for Southborough Nursing Home
The magic of the big top came to life in the most heartwarming way as residents from Southborough Nursing Home enjoyed an unforgettable day out, thanks to the wonderful team at Chessington Garden Centre and the enchanting performers of Circus of Dreams.
From the moment the residents arrived, the excitement was palpable. The circus experience was nothing short of mesmerising – from dazzling trapeze artists who soared through the air, to skilful jugglers and cheeky clowns who had everyone in stitches. There was even a surprise appearance from the Easter Bunny himself, adding a seasonal sparkle to the day.
For many, the outing was more than just entertainment — it was a joyful trip down memory lane. Barbara fondly shared that the last time she had been to a circus was when she was just ten years old. “It brought back so many happy memories,” she smiled. The presence of children in the audience, joyfully waving and giggling, created a real sense of togetherness and community spirit.
Residents Philip and Lily clapped along to every act, clearly delighted by the lively atmosphere, while Audrey beamed as she enjoyed the performance with her husband by her side. Lily’s day was made even more special with a warm embrace from her loving niece – a reminder of the strong family connections that are so cherished at Aria Care.
Following the show, the group visited the garden centre café where they tucked into a well-earned treat of delicious pizza and indulgent hot chocolate. There was unanimous agreement that it was “the best pizza ever!”
This magical day would not have been possible without the thoughtful planning of Myley, whose dedication to creating meaningful experiences continues to enrich the lives of our residents. Sincere thanks also go to John, our friendly and ever-reliable driver, who added a personal touch to the journey with his cheerful company.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Circus of Dreams for bringing such a spectacular show to life, and to Chessington Garden Centre for your generous hospitality. You’ve gifted us with memories full of laughter, wonder, and joy – the kind that linger long after the final curtain call.
