Delightful baking at Thames View

Home of Compassion Baking

The residents at Thames View in Thames Ditton love to bake and take every opportunity to rustle up some delightful treats.

Earlier this year they got involved in making some delicious carrot cakes and they were such a hit that they requested to make them again in our baking club this week. Mary who lives in our community, has previously published three cook books was the obvious choice to take the lead.

It is lovely to see all our residents working together and chatting throughout, sharing their stories of previous baking successes and in some cases disasters. Whipping up the cake is a fun activity, good for joint mobility and the smell of baking can help to stimulate appetites too.

Obviously it would be rude not to try the final product which we all thoroughly enjoyed with a cup of tea in our bistro overlooking our grounds.

Due to its popularity watch this space to see what our next baking session produces!
