Southborough Nursing Home Celebrate 99th Birthday and Welcome the Mayor

Mayoral Celebration at Southborough Nursing Home

Southborough Nursing Home, part of the Aria Care family, was honoured to welcome distinguished guests on a truly momentous day – the 99th birthday of cherished resident Barbara.

The team were delighted to receive the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Councillor Noel Hadjimichael, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Sue Ansari, who joined residents, team members and family for a celebration filled with warmth, laughter and heartfelt connection.

The occasion was made all the more special by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s kind words and genuine interest in everyone they met. They spent time chatting with Barbara, listening with great interest to her remarkable life stories, and offering a personal invitation to the borough’s Christmas party – an event Barbara is now eagerly anticipating.

Home Manager Kamal and Lifestyle Lead Shobha were pleased to introduce the visiting dignitaries to the dedicated Southborough team, while Director of Quality and Compliance, Mark Sims, and Deputy Manager, Agartha, presented floral gifts to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor as a gesture of thanks and appreciation.

Barbara was overjoyed to share her special day with her daughter Nadine, and the afternoon reached a joyful crescendo as the Mayor led the room in a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’, followed by a spirited ‘Hip Hip Hooray!’

It was a day that truly captured the spirit of community at Southborough – a place where every individual is valued, and where moments of celebration are made unforgettable through shared kindness and connection.

Aria Care extends its heartfelt thanks to Councillor Hadjimichael and Councillor Ansari for their presence, positivity and the lasting joy they brought to the home.
