The residents and team at Frethey House Care Home in Taunton had a fun ‘Beach Week’ themed event last week where they got to enjoy some classic beach activities all in the comfort of their own home.
Our wellbeing team Nicki and Leah set the scene with beautiful beach themed decorations throughout the lounge, which they got the residents involved in making prior to the event. There was seaweed as you went through the doorway which led to you being met by bubbles.
Our residents enjoyed a delicious fish and chips lunch which was followed by a fabulous Mr Whippy ice cream, so it really did feel like we were at the beach.
The fun didn’t stop there with everyone coming together to watch a traditional Punch & Judy show provided by Professor James Gordon, who also did a little bit of magic too!
It was lovely hearing stories from our residents as they reminisced about their trips to the beach with their children and trips to the seaside with their own parents when they were children themselves.
