The residents and team at Coxhill Manor Nursing and Residential Home in Surrey recently held a fundraiser for Children in Need with their very own ‘Pudsey’s Tea Party’!
As a lead-up to the BBC televised event, the team decided to host their own event to help towards an amazing cause, raising money to support children living in poverty, with mental health issues, family challenges and social inequality.
To prepare for the event, residents helped to craft buntings and other decorations for the day and Head Chef Monica baked a fabulous Pudsey cake along with other themed cookies and fairy cakes.
Wellbeing coordinator, Cai, dressed up as the lovable bear and hosted a fun-filled afternoon of games for residents, starting with a giant Pudsey-themed ‘Play Your Cards Right,’ then residents all competed to guess the number of sweets in the Pudsey sweet tin. Resident, Jennifer won the game after only being off by one and was awarded the sweets to much applause.
The team hosted a raffle as their fundraiser and everyone made their generous donations. To tie off a wonderful afternoon, together, the residents and team raised £75 to donate to Children in Need.
