The team and residents at Coxhill Manor Nursing and Residential Home in Chobham had an absolute blast celebrating Care Home Open Week with a variety of fun activities.
To kick off the celebrations, our residents spent a lovely afternoon baking cookies and cakes together, learning lots of useful baking skills and enjoying tasting their delicious creations.
This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home & this little piggy came to Coxhill! We were delighted to be visited by a local animal therapy company, bringing with them an adorable piglet and our residents had a wonderful time feeding and petting the furry little fellow!
Pet therapy is great for our residents as it encourages social interaction, reduces anxiety and improves mood, so a huge thank you to everyone for visiting us and making the day so special.
Next in the Open Week entertainment was some fantastic music for our residents to enjoy. We got to hear the talented Emilija playing the Kanklės, a unique plucked string instrument from Lithuania. Residents were enamored with the hauntingly beautiful tones, claiming “we’ve never seen this before but definitely want to see it again!”
A favourite at Coxhill Manor, the brilliant Paul Grainger, led us in a sing-along of old music hall songs that brought back great memories for our residents and had everyone singing along and enjoying themselves.
Thank you to the team, the local community and everyone who joined us on our Care Home Open Week to make it a very special week.
