Residents at Coppice Lea Care Home spent a fun-filled afternoon pizza making! Everyone got the chance to get creative, rolling out the dough and then choosing from a range of toppings, including fresh vegetables, various meats and cheese, depending on what was their preference.
Both the team at Coppice Lea and our residents thoroughly enjoyed eating their creations and the whole home smelt delicious for the rest of the day!
Activity-based care is a key ingredient at our home and our residents love to get involved in cooking and baking, which are great activities for them to express their creative side and feel engaged. Plus smells and scents can evoke memories that have a calming and relaxing influence. This type of activity can also stimulate discussions about favourite meals or recipes.
