A Joyful Summer BBQ Celebration at Hamilton Nursing Home
Last Saturday, the garden at Hamilton Nursing Home was filled with laughter, music, and the delightful aromas of a summer BBQ, as residents, families, and friends came together for an annual tradition that truly embodies the spirit of togetherness.
Each year, the home hosts this special summer gathering to strengthen the bonds between residents and their loved ones, and to welcome the wider community into the heart of the home. This year’s celebration was made even more memorable by a very special guest – the Mayor of Kingston – who spent time chatting with residents and their families, bringing warmth and genuine connection to the day.
Guests were treated to live entertainment by the ever-popular DJ David, who performed a charming mix of songs while playing the accordion from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, serenading everyone with music that inspired dancing, singing, and smiles all around.
The culinary offerings were a true highlight, with a mouth-watering selection of BBQ favourites including burgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, a variety of fresh salads and rice dishes. To accompany the feast, guests enjoyed Pimm’s, wine, beer, soft drinks, juice, and plenty of refreshing ice cream – perfect for a sunny afternoon.
The day concluded with a lively raffle and tombola, adding a fun and festive finish to the celebration.
The success of the event was down to the dedication and teamwork of the entire home. Every member of staff played a role in bringing the day to life. The home’s talented chef went above and beyond, preparing delicious salads and rice dishes, baking cakes, and overseeing the BBQ with care and creativity.
At Aria Care, moments like these are cherished – where residents feel at the centre of joyful community life, and families are welcomed not just as visitors, but as part of the home.
