Our team at Mount Pleasant Care Home, Burton upon Trent, are pleased to receive such lovely feedback from the daughter of one of their residents after they were reunited after several years apart.
Border control in Australia had sadly meant that the daughter couldn’t fly back to England to visit their mum and resident at Mount Pleasant.
The daughter of Mount Pleasant’s resident said: “After several years of border closures, I was able to visit my mother at Mount Pleasant – the staff greeted me so warmly and made sure I was fully prepared for our reunion as her dementia has progressed.
“Mum’s room is homely and airy with special considerations given for her continuing comfort and well-being as an elderly and frail lady – all the staff were so kind and respectful towards her and made sure all her needs were met – she looked so clean comfortable and peaceful – the dedicated carers always ensured she was well nourished engaged her in conversation and treated her with dignity.
“Everyone works so well as a team together to bring love light and laughter to the residents.”
Nikki Kelly, Home Manager at Mount Pleasant commented on the feedback: “Our resident has not been able to see her daughter for over three years as she resides in Australia and there were Covid restrictions. Her daughter was so happy to come over for a couple of weeks and spend some quality time with her mum and it was a delight to see them reunited.”
